Fiddle Leaf Fig (Ficus Lyrata) Small

A native of the rain forests of Central and Western Africa, a Fiddle Leaf Fig is a very photogenic plant with glossy, leathery, veined leaves. They add a certain architectural elegance to any indoor setting, making them a favoured plant for designers, interior decorators and hobbyists who like to collect and showcase plants. The Fiddle-leaf Fig (Ficus lyrata) is a popular indoor specimen plant featuring very large heavily veined violin-shaped leaves that grow upright. Fiddle-leaf figs are perfect as focal points of a room if you can situate them in a floor-standing container where the plant is allowed to grow to at least 6 feet. (Most indoor specimens reach around 10 feet tall.). Fiddle-leaf figs are not especially demanding plants as long as you can get their growing conditions right. When grown as a houseplant be prepared to rotate your fiddle-leaf fig every few days so a different part faces the light source. That way it will grow evenly rather than lean toward the light.Fiddle-leaf figs require bright filtered light to grow and lo especially exposure to hot afternoon sun. Any quality indoor plant potting mix should be suitable for a fiddle-leaf fig. Ensure that the soil drains well.Fiddle-leaf figs like a moderate amount of moisture in the soil.

Plant Care: Fiddle-leaf Figgrows well outdoors in partial shade-to-part sun. Indoors it likes a setting with bright indirect sunlight.. It is best to provide shade from the sun during the hottest part of the day. Fiddle-leaf Fig plants do not do well with very low lighting. For a this plant, you need well-draining soil. This type of soil ensures excess water drains through the plant pot. This prevents all that extra water from building up in the soil. When there’s too much water in your plant’s soil, it blocks the oxygen from getting through to the roots. The lack of oxygen to a plant’s roots can cause root rot. Root rot is just as the name sounds. It’s when the roots of a plant start to rot away.
