Alocasia Cuprea ‘Red Secret’

Alocasia cuprea is one of the important and attentive plants among the Alocasia’s.  Alocasia cuprea, Another stunning species that comes from the Alocasia genus, A. cuprea is one of the rare houseplants to find. Consider yourself lucky to ever encounter one. But even with its special characteristics, this plant is not that hard to care for.

Plant Care: Alocasia cuprea prefer bright light, ideally receiving at least 6 hours of indirect sunlight a day. Note that this plant can tolerate medium light but leaves it will be less colorful and show less variegation. For a this plant, you need well-draining soil. This type of soil ensures excess water drains through the plant pot. This prevents all that extra water from building up in the soil. When there’s too much water in your plant’s soil, it blocks the oxygen from getting through to the roots. The lack of oxygen to a plant’s roots can cause root rot. Root rot is just as the name sounds. It’s when the roots of a plant start to rot away. Always poke your finger on the soil and test if the soil is dry and then water the plants.

Best suggestion is to shift the plants outside (in shade) once in awhile till they recover.
