Peat Moss is an important component of most potting soils and seed starting mediums. It holds several times its weight in moisture and releases the moisture to the plant’s roots as needed. It also holds onto nutrients so that they aren’t rinsed out of the soil when you water the plant. Peat moss alone does not make a good potting medium. It must be mixed with other ingredients to make up between one-third to two-thirds of the total volume of the mix

It has an acid pH, so it’s ideal for acid loving plants, such as blueberries and camellias.It is free of bacteria and most fungal spores and is sustainably produced without the environmental damage caused by peat mining. It is added so that the container retains more moisture for the plants and it reduces the weight on your balcony/terrace. Has the ability to store and release nutrient to plants for extended periods of time. It also has great Oxygenation properties which is important for healthy root development. You use it until it becomes moist fluffy powdery.
